I’m a cartoonist.

Sometimes I’m called a “humorous illustrator”—for freelance purposes, it sounds like a more serious job. Basically, I draw cartoons for a living.

Mostly, I do the comic strip Baby Blues with my co-creator, Jerry Scott. Baby Blues is syndicated by King Features Syndicate in over 1200 newspapers around the world (that’s over 900 cities). If you want to license anything Baby Blues, contact me at rick(dot)babyblues(at)mac(dot)com.

On this site, though, I’m merely Rick Kirkman, Humorous Illustrator. That’s because I do illustrations that are humorous, which is just a fancy way of saying funny drawings. If you want some funny drawings, you’ve come to the right place.

I’ve got plenty of ’em.

Some I haven’t even thought of yet.

If you want to hire me to make a new funny drawing just for your company, your agency, your client, your magazine, your kids (I’m not serious about the last one)—click the portfolio link above Kirkman Illustration. Then you can get in touch with my rep, Kimberley Boege. A handy form and phone number for her are on the Contact page.

If you want to buy some products with my funny drawings on them, click the portfolio link under Drawn By Rick on the Home page. They’re sold on CafePress and Zazzle. My stores are at www.cafepress.com/drawnbyrick and zazzle.com/rickdraw*. You can probably get a better look at the drawings here, then scoot over to CafePress or Zazzle to buy them. Each store has different sets of products.

I live in Arizona, which means we’re on Mountain Standard Time—all the time. We don’t do any of that weird Daylight Savings Time. So during DST, I’m on the same time as Pacific Daylight time. I only tell you this because during DST, that means there’s three hours difference between here and the east coast, and I don’t get up early enough to talk to people on the east coast when they get into work.

If you want to know anything else about me, I’m sure Wikipedia has some fairly erroneous information to satisfy you.

Poke around the site. Hope you like the funny drawings.
